Where Papaki is the better choice

  • Your site has busy days. On Standard it gets extra power by itself and runs on at least two servers, so a busy day or a failed server doesn't take it down.
  • You want month-to-month billing with no introductory price to renew out of.

  • You want a dashboard made for WordPress, showing each site's logs, uptime and cost, rather than Plesk.

Questions

Is Grandhosting cheaper than Papaki?

At the entry level the prices are close: our Micro starts at €3.49 + VAT a month, Papaki's WordPress Hosting at €4.75 (discounted) or €6.90 + VAT. The difference is how you pay. Papaki advertises discounted plan prices and says renewal rates may vary; we bill month to month by the hour, so a quiet site pays the minimum and a busy site pays for what it uses.

Are Papaki's or Grandhosting's servers in Greece?

Neither says so. Papaki's features page lists the location as Europe, and its 2024 announcement named a data centre in Brussels. We host mainly in Germany, always within the EU, and say so on every page. With our CDN switched on, images and static files are also served from locations across Europe, including Greece. If you need your site's servers physically in Greece, look at a host that states it.

Can you move my site from Papaki, and what about my email?

Yes, free. Our team moves the files, database, DNS and SSL, and your Papaki site keeps running until you switch. Mailboxes are separate with us: if your mailbox is on your Papaki plan, keep it there or move it to one of our mailboxes, from €1.90 a month + VAT.
