Mostly not. Crawlers that copy pages to train AI models, such as GPTBot and ClaudeBot, are not the ones that answer a buyer’s question; the assistants read your shop through their search and assistant bots. Refusing those is different: then ChatGPT, Perplexity and others can’t read your shop when a buyer asks. That’s why they share one switch, and why we recommend leaving it on Allowed. Google is the exception: its setting for AI, Google-Extended, covers training and Gemini’s answers together, so asking Google to stay out can keep your shop out of Gemini. Google Search is not affected.
