Reporting illegal content, and how we handle it.

Our points of contact under the EU Digital Services Act, how to report content on a site we host, and what happens next.

Last updated 19 October 2026.

Points of contact

For authorities (Digital Services Act, Article 11): legal@grandhosting.gr. For users and the public (Article 12): abuse@grandhosting.gr and our report form. You can write to both points of contact in Greek or English. A person reads every message; we do not rely on automated replies alone.

Grandhosting LTD, Lordou Vyronos 36, 7th floor, Agioi Omologites, 1096 Nicosia, Cyprus. The Digital Services Coordinator for Cyprus is the Cyprus Radiotelevision and Digital Services Authority (crta.org.cy).

How to report illegal content

Use the report form or write to abuse@grandhosting.gr. Please include:

  • why you believe the content is illegal;
  • the exact web address (URL) of the content;
  • your name and email address;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that your report is accurate and complete.

You do not need to give your name or email address if your report concerns the sexual abuse or sexual exploitation of children, including abuse material and grooming.

We confirm that we received your report, tell you what we decided and why, and say whether automated tools were used. We handle reports in a timely, diligent, non-arbitrary and objective way.

How we decide, and what we use

We check reports ourselves. We also run automated checks on the sites we host, such as nightly malware scans and detection of unusual resource use. Automated findings alert our team. A person reviews them before we restrict a site, except where a delay would cause serious harm (for example active malware spreading to visitors).

When we act: a statement of reasons

If we remove or disable content, suspend a site or close an account because content is illegal or breaks our Terms, we tell the customer in writing. The statement says what we did and for how long, the facts behind it, whether automated tools were involved, the legal or contractual ground, and how to challenge the decision: reply to us, complain to the Digital Services Coordinator of the EU country where you live or are established, or go to court.

Child sexual abuse material: zero tolerance

We do not allow child sexual abuse material on our services. Reports can be made without giving your name. We remove such content as soon as we know about it, never pass the material on, keep only what the law or the police require, and report it to the Cyprus Police (Office for Combating Cybercrime).

You can also report directly to the CYberSafety Hotline 1480 (cybersafety.cy/hotline-report) in Cyprus or SafeLine (safeline.gr) in Greece. Both are members of the INHOPE network.

If we become aware of information suggesting a criminal offence that threatens a person’s life or safety, we promptly inform the police or judicial authorities of the EU country concerned. If we cannot tell which country, we inform the Cyprus Police or Europol (Digital Services Act, Article 18).

Terrorist content removal orders

Competent authorities can send removal orders under Regulation (EU) 2021/784 to legal@grandhosting.gr, marked “Removal order”. Removal orders can be sent in Greek or English. We remove or disable the content within one hour of receipt.

We inform the customer concerned. If an authority tells us not to, we wait for the period the authority sets, which is at most six weeks and can be extended once. We keep removed content and related data for six months, or longer if an authority or court asks.

Orders and data requests from authorities

When an authority orders us to act against illegal content or to provide information (Articles 9 and 10), we confirm what we did and inform the customer concerned, unless the law prevents it. We disclose customer data only on a valid legal basis, and only what the request requires. Justified requests for domain registration data are answered within 72 hours, as NIS2 Article 28 requires.

Complaints

If you disagree with how we handled a report or a decision about your site, reply to the message you received or write to legal@grandhosting.gr. A person reviews your complaint and replies.
